I AM A RJ VOTER

SisterSong is a Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective based in Atlanta, GA. SisterSong’s mission is to strengthen and amplify the collective voices of indigenous women and women of color to achieve Reproductive Justice by eradicating reproductive oppression and securing human rights.

The pledge

I believe in Reproductive Justice. The human right to bodily autonomy. To have children. To not have children. To parent the children we have in healthy, safe, and sustainable communities.

The Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe V. Wade is in total opposition to our values. Politicians that vote against our human rights will continue to hear from us and feel the power of our movement. I will vote my values in every upcoming election. #IAmaRJVoter!

This country has always tried to control our bodies. This country has always tried to control the bodies of Black women, people of color, and queer and trans communities. Through our collective organized resistance, we reclaim our fundamental rights, and we won’t stop!

I will only vote for politicians who support and advance policies that protect the human right to Reproductive Justice. When I can, I will support my neighbors, family, and community to vote to protect our rights to Reproductive Justice.

Audre Lorde said, “There is no such thing as a single-issue struggle because we do not live single-issue lives." People who have been historically pushed to the margins often face multiple oppressions. And liberation is only possible when we address how all these oppressions interact with one another. 

Reproductive Justice demands we work collectively to dismantle these systems rooted in white supremacy, patriarchy, misogynoir, ableism, queer & transphobia and all other isms to secure our human rights. 

This is what Reproductive Justice is all about. It's about full reproductive freedom.
